Auto Insurance Online – Progressive Insurance Joins the Ad Boycott of Laura Ingraham’s Show
Progressive Insurance decided to pull its ads from Fox News host Laura Ingraham’s radio show, “The Laura Ingraham Show.”
After Ingraham tweeted an article about Parkland, Florida student David Hogg being rejected by multiple colleges, he called for a boycottof her advertisers.
Although the Fox News host apologized and invited Hogg to return to her show for a “productive discussion” many companies pulled its ads, including:
- Atlantis, Paradise Island
- Jenny Craig
- Stitch Fix
- Johnson & Johnson
- Office Depot
Yahoo Finance reported that Progressive Insurance also pulled its ads and according to Breitbart News, it was because of the “controversial programming.”
Ad Large Media reportedly sent an email on behalf of Progressive to radio affiliates on Friday that specifically cited Ingraham’s programming as “controversial” and said not to air any ads during the week beginning on Apr. 2.
“No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, bullying a high school student is inappropriate, and we’re pulling our ads for the time being,” Progressive spokesman Brian Grace told Breitbart News.
On Friday, Hogg called Ingraham a “bully” and said she should be “held accountable” for attacking other people, including NBA stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
Following the controversy, Ingraham announced she was taking a week-long break from her show to spend the Easter holiday with her children.
